You wont find a warning on your makeup, but that doesnt mean its safe.

Petrochemicals.  They're everywhere.  Hard to avoid, especially when it comes to cosmetics.  Long passed are the days when our mothers called slathering petroleum jelly all over their bodies a beauty secret.  Today, savvy beauty consumers know what our mothers didn't: petroleum jelly is basically motor oil!  Yet even in today's climate of awareness and information, the same gross stuff in petroleum jelly is still widely used in lots of skin care and cosmetics.

Why?

Mostly, it's because petrochemicals are cheap.  Really cheap.  Many people think that petroleum jelly will protect their lovely lips from sunburn or chapping, but in reality, petrochemicals actually have a photosensitivity that promotes sun damage.  So basically the stuff that's supposed to make lips silky, and kissably soft actually makes lips worse.  Think of all the unfortunate women wasting money on lip and skin care products that actually suffocate the skin, clog pores, and interfere with the skin's natural moisture!

The hazards don't end at irritated skin either.  They get much worse.  A variety of petroleum based products have been studied and shown to have a wide variety of adverse health effects.  You ready for this?  Poor hand-eye coordination in children, cancer, disruption of the endocrine system, lung irritation and damage, adverse effects on fetal development, learning disabilities, liver damage, low and poor sperm quality in men, and it can even be a narcotic in large doses.

It's shocking, and actually a little tragic how many women don't know how nasty this stuff really is.  So ladies, we've got to look out for each other. Ingredient labels on cosmetic products can be pretty sneaky, and sometimes petrochemicals appear under aliases like dioxin, toluene, ethyl, methyl, and acetone. With the heightened awareness nowadays about what we are putting in our bodies, why shouldn't we have the same focus with what we put on our bodies?  We absorb 80% of whatever we put on our skin so just think about that the next time you put on that lip gloss that may look like it's natural but is chocked full of motor oil.  W3LL PEOPLE wants to help women free themselves from the petrochemical abuse, and that's why all of our products are chemical-free.  Join us, and live well!
