In the early days, when W3LL PEOPLE was merely a concept being carefully crafted by three dreamers, the diagnosis of W3LL PEOPLE cofounder Shirley's mother with breast cancer gave the trio even more motivation to continue pushing forward with their mission: women deserve to know what's in the products they use. Products can perform without the use of toxic ingredients. Feeling your best shouldn't put your health at risk.
And so the battle began, both for Shirley's mother, who we are happy to say is a survivor, and for our beauty dream team, who took W3LL PEOPLE from merely a dream to a thriving reality. With more and more research showing the harmful effects of toxic ingredients on women's health, we consider each toxic foundation, mascara or blush that is replaced by a safe alternative, a slap in the face of cancer. Together, we are helping kick cancer's ass.
This October we are excited to announce a few initiatives that further our passion for this near-to-our-heart cause, because, unfortunately, we know that breast cancer hits close to home for so many of you, too. During the entire month of October we'll be donating 100% of proceeds from our Pink Coral Universalist Multi-Stick 13 and our Natural Warrior Tee to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. As a fellow grass-roots movement, we relate to their mission, and appreciate that donations go directly to breast cancer research, providing mammograms to women in need, and helping those actively fighting the disease with various types of resources and support.
Our team is on the ground in this battle, too. This weekend our Green Beauty Pros in Austin, Texas, will participate in Run for the Cure - Austin, to help further raise funds for breast cancer. Following the event, participants will be able to stop by our W3LL PEOPLE booth and try out some of our natural, vegan, cruelty-free, nontoxic, cancer-kicking cosmetics.
